Job Description

This position is responsible for visually inspecting completed wax assembles and component parts for defects in workmanship and conformance to generic and job-specific quality standards and work instructions.

Essential Job Functions

•         Read and understand information on work instructions
•         Inspect assemblies 100% for defects
•         Mark up assemblies to identify defects
•         Record data manually or by computer as required
•         Repair minor defects on assemblies
•         Provide feedback to wax department on assembly quality
•         This position may be located at either Tempcraft or the New Hope Vocational Services facility in Mentor, OH
o   Potential travel could be up to and exceeding 2-3 days per week between the two facilities

Job Responsibilities

•         Ensure safe work practices and that all EHS policies and requirements are being followed. Additionally, all employees are expected to be actively engaged in the continuous improvement of safety practices in all areas of the facility.
•         Read and follow information on Product Criteria and Assembly Releases.
•         Be thoroughly familiar with department activity instructions.
•         Inspect completed assemblies for conformance to Product Criteria and Assembly Releases and for workmanship in compliance with department Activity Instructions.
•         Mark assemblies up for rework. Defects identified will be recored by type and communicated back to the cell leaders.
•         Return the assembly for rework by wax cell operators or repair the assembly defects, based on job.
•         Other duties as assigned.


Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent or general education degree (GED)
•         Ability to read and interpret documents such as:
o   Safety Rules
o   Product Criteria
o   Assembly Release
o   Activity Instructions
•         Must successfully complete all Level II classroom training and pass a proficiency test administered by the Level III in both generic inspection and wax-specific inspection.
•         Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
•         Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
•         Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
•         Must pass an annual eye exam per Jaeger 1.
•         Demonstrate current proficiency as a wax operator with a minimum of two (2) years related experience in:
o   Assembly
o   Pattern Repair
o   Pinning
