Job Description

The position will provide technical leadership for Lafayette NDT processes                                    including, UT, Liquid Penetrate, and Electromagnetic Testing. The                                                       successful candidate will be accountable for approving and maintaining                                              all quality and procedural documents required for NADCAP, AS9100 and                                       other customer approval/certification and developing and monitoring                                             scan plans for extrusion inspections, EM coils and drawn tube                                                            inspections; This position will provide supervision for the ultrasonic department. The position will train and certify operators at Lafayette, and      schedule outside training, as necessary. Additional responsibilities will be to:
•maintain training, exams and certification records for each employee
•provide supervision in coordination with production
•maintain technical state-of-art equipment for Lafayette NDT
•coordinate calibration and maintenance of NDT equipment.
•audit and approve outside suppliers of NDT inspections and calibration of equipment;
•oversee handling of extrusions and scheduling to maximize productivity of Lafayette inspection;
•perform required annual NDT audits for NADCAP;
•order supplies to support equipment and NDT activities;
•review and implement requirements from all NDT specifications and host NDT Auditors from customer and 3rd party organizations.

Qualifications

 
•Basic Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
•Current UT level II certification with ASNT/NAS 410 or other recognized NDE accreditation.
•Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

•Preferred Qualifications:
•Technical Degree or background of drawn tube, or extrusions
•Prefer a candidate with Level 3 certification but would consider a candidate with Level 2 certification with the willingness and ability to attain Level 3 certification.
•A bachelor’s degree in metallurgy or other technical/scientific discipline is preferred but can substitute with a combination of some college coursework in a related field and/or experience with aluminum aerospace extrusions
