Job Description

Arconic Cleveland Operations, a forging facility located at 1600 Harvard Ave. seeks qualified Level II Ultrasonic Operators. The Level II Ultrasonic Operator is an hourly, bargaining unit position.
 
Candidates must be able to work any shift and all days of the week, as this position requires overtime.

The Level II Ultrasonic Operator performs the following functions:
-Operate manual and automated computer controlled NDT equipment to ultrasonic immersion test and evaluate aluminum forgings.
-Validate equipment calibration(s) and set up equipment per technique card and specification requirements.
-Interpret and follow applicable technique cards, scan plans, and procedures for Ultrasonic inspection.
-Complete required inspection documentation and enter information into the ARCONIC NDT database.
-Prepare and stage parts (via USI stamp and data entry) for post-sonic processing.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements:
1+ years of experience as an ultrasonic operator

Education Requirements:
Must have a HS Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
Must have the classroom and experience hours to be qualified and certified as a Level II US inspector per NAS-410
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
Physical Requirements
Must be able to operate ultrasound equipment while in a standing/bending position
Must be able to move parts from pallets/baskets to water tanks using overhead crane
Must be able to coordinate using both hands to operate USI equipment while examining parts
Must be able to perform inspection using a manually operated manipulator bridge and hand scrubber
Must be able to lift tongs, chains, and straps weighing 5 to 50 pounds from drawers at floor, knee, or waist level
Must be able to attach forgings to overhead crane lifting device(s)
May be required to lift and carry ultrasound equipment to inspection area (approximately 20 pounds)
May be required to lift smaller forgings weighing 25 pounds or less
