Job Description



SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Tool Design Manager the individual performs welding, repair and fabrication duties, and the inspection of tooling as assigned or required.  They must maintain a high level of work quality.
 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be required and assigned at any time.
Reads and interprets drawings
Performs various types of welding, repair and fabrication duties
Completes work orders as required
Reports inspection results. Marks parts for acceptance or rejection.
Ability to visually and mechanically measure and inspect parts utilizing devices, which include micrometers, verniers, and calipers.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications and complete paperwork.
Must have an understanding and knowledge of company procedures and work instructions.
Follows safety rules; utilizes protective clothing and equipment, reports safety hazards to supervisor
Performs other duties as required
Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED and six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
 
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
 
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Ability to operate a forklift and manlift to approved O.S.H.A. standards.
