Job Description

Essential Functions:
Responsible for manufacturing and repair of machine parts and tooling. Also responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment. Must function as a tooling readiness specialist. Assist and train other toolmakers, as required.
Specific Responsibilities Include:

  1. Production and repair of various machine tooling within drawing and specification requirements.
  2. Rework existing tooling to accommodate production requirements.
  3. Production of test button making. Including set-up and operation of equipment, as assigned.
  4. Process rework orders, tool inspection and other necessary machine work to support factory operations.
  5. Order and maintain inventory levels of required tooling, gages and supplies.
  6. Participate with operations teams in assuring tooling and material readiness.
  7. Participate in setting and achieving team and individual productivity and quality targets.
  8. Participate with team in continuous improvement efforts.
  9. Perform machine inspections including daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks.
  10. Perform shop floor housekeeping duties.
  11. Assist and train other junior toolmakers as required.
  12. Perform other tasks as needed in support of the tooling and production teams.
  13. Helps to ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained
  14. Train other operators as required
  15. Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.
  16. Adheres to Arconic EH&S, Quality, Continuous Improvements and other Company Policies.

Basic Qualifications


  • High school graduate or equivalent with trade school or apprenticeship training
  • Certification in machining (NTMA), engineering, or manufacturing technology preferred.

Experience and Background:
  • Minimum of 8+ years of precision metal components machining experience
  • Knowledge of cold forming die assembly and rework
  • Strong problem solving, decision making, and team building skills required
  • Ability to train other toolmakers in addition to solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to read and interpret product prints
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Preferred Qualifications

- Be able to set up and operate Lathes
- Be able to use surface grinders
- Able to use measuring devices (caliper, micrometer, etc)
- Know and understand GCodes
