Arconic Fastening Systems is looking for a Tooling Specialist IV who is responsible for production and repair of various machine tooling within drawing and specification requirements. This includes being able to work with multiple departments as well as individual needs to rework existing tooling and meet production requirements as well as company goals.

Tooling Specialist IV Essential Job Duties:
  • Production and repair of various machine tooling within drawing and specification requirements
  • Rework existing tooling to accommodate production requirements
  • Production of test button making. Including set-up and operation of equipment, as assigned
  • Process rework orders, tool inspection and other necessary machine work to support factory operations
  • Order and maintain inventory levels of required tooling, gages and supplies
  • Participate with operations teams in assuring tooling and material readiness
  • Participate in setting and achieving team and individual productivity and quality targets
  • Participate with team in continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform machine inspections including daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks
  • Perform shop floor housekeeping duties
  • Assist and train other junior toolmakers as required
  • Perform other tasks as needed in support of the tooling and production teams
  • Helps to ensure that quality and standards for the department are adhered to and maintained
  • Train other operators as required
  • Assumes other special activities and responsibilities from time to time as required.

Basic Requirements:
• Minimum of 5+ years of precision metal components machining experience including set up and operating Lathes
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to train other toolmakers in addition to solid verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to interpret product prints, Gcodes
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Able to use measuring devices (caliper, micrometer, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:
• NTMA or similar certification
• Knowledge of cold forming die assembly and rework 
• Strong problem solving, decision making, and team building skills required
• Able to set up and operate Lathe, surface Grinders
