Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) is seeking a Tooling Specialist to work in our Tool Room Department in Fullerton, CA.

Summary
Performs all types of precision finishing on a variety of materials including carbide and tool steel to exacting tolerance of 16 micro or better. Must have knowledge of close tolerances and be familiar with all hand polishing equipment.
 
Essential Duties
  • Polishes dies and punches to 16 micro or better from tool prints, verbal instructions on a variety of materials including tool steels and carbide;
  • Plans set up and sequence of operation by studying work orders, part print, tool print or verbal instruction;
  • Sets up part in machine and selects proper compound and applicator;
  • Uses precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers and optical comparators) to check parts to assure conformance to specification;
  • Makes molds to check internal forms.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Tool Room environemnt;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
