Works independently under moderate supervision to design new tooling and/or rework existing tooling. Consisting of, but not limited to: pattern dies, pattern or casting jigs, gauges, fixtures and miscellaneous tooling used throughout the manufacturing process.  Independent and collaborative judgment and skill is frequently required. Ensures all designs conform to our 3D Printing, Arconic Tooling, and Safety / Ergonomic guidelines, as well as meet internal Wichita Falls Engineering and Arconic Corporate Engineering guidelines.
  1. Design pattern dies, pattern or casting fixtures, gauges, jigs, and miscellaneous tooling used on the production floor throughout production for construction using conventional retractive or various additive methods.
  2. Prepare drawings, 3D models and fixture specifications as necessary to facilitate 3rd party construction.
  3. Investigate manufacturing problems and collaborate on corrective actions for existing and expected manufacturing issues with tooling.
  4. Ensure all work activities are performed in accordance with established 3D Printing, Arconic Tooling, and Safety / Ergonomic guidelines.
  5. Ensure all work activities are performed in accordance with internal Wichita Falls Engineering requirements and Arconic Corporate Engineering requirements.
  6. Maintain and keep a well-organized system of records and file information.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned to support or facilitate the manufacturing process.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Associates degree from an accredited institution
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Experience with Sold Works
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'),Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prefer Bachelor degree in Engineering or Business  and technical training.
  • Two Years of manufacturing experience.
  • Prefer computer experience with  AutoCAD, Unigraphics or similar software.
  • Prefer AEWF practical experience of various department needs.
  • Prefer practical experience with tooling design and construction concepts. Hands on experience with tool/mechanical operations are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of basic to intermediate Geometry principles.
  • Understanding of basic machining methods and practices to be able to proficiently apply designs to a real world situation.
