Tasks and Responsibilities:
•         Read and understand component prints
•         Measure aluminum extrusions at the press (1st and 3rd billets)
•         Records dimensions for front and back samples at the press
•         Dates and stamps inspection log after inspecting metal at the press
•         Verifies press is running to standard practice
•         Writes QAR for any dimensional or quality related issue
•         Visually inspects dies for damage and wear
•         Evaluates metal to decide appropriate correction to die
•         Polishes, grinds and files dies to make corrections
•         Applies choke, relief and other corrections to dies in the shop
•         Peens dies in the press and in the shop
•         Opens dies by filing bearings in the press and in the shop
•         Measures and records any changes made to the die in Oracle and on the part print
•         Checks in new dies based on the incoming inspection sheet
•         Pins, measures and records all openings in new tooling
•         Inspects dummy blocks for wear and damage
•         Inspects skimmer blocks for wear and damage
•         Inspects die rings for wear and damage
•         Inspects backers for wear, cave and damage
•         Inspects bolsters for wear, cave and damage
•         Inspects sub-bolsters for wear, cave and damage
•         Maintain the Oracle Die & Tooling System
•         Track, log, and inspect press stems and containers
•     Check daily shop floor Oracle entries (by press); ensure die usage data is entered into the system, correct any incorrect entries.
•    Troubleshoot / correct all problem dies
•   Provide technical support for the pre-sale tech review process.


  • Minimum 1 year of experience measuring parts using various inspection tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers)
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of various types of steels and nickel used in forge manufacturing.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
