Job Description

Responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating technical training programs. Writes literature and materials to be used in programs and designs exercises to enhance lectures. Conducts classes regarding safety, security, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment within Forming Factories.  Conducts standard training, e.g. Safety, Environmental, policies, etc as workload permits.  

Specific Responsibilities

  • Conducts needs assessment for training by collecting information pertaining to work procedures, work flow, and reports; understanding job-specific functions and tasks.
  • Work with Focus Factory leadership to set objectives of training and define course content to support
  • Plan and direct classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other computer-aided instructional technologies, simulators, conferences and workshops.
  • Produce training schedules and classroom agenda
  • Prepare training material (presentations, worksheets etc.) using appropriate training method, submit initial versions for review; revise and edit final copy.
  • Conducts training, individually or in groups, by presenting job-specific, company-specific, and generic classes.
  • Analyze best way to produce training – in house development or outside purchase – and make recommendation to leaders
  • Serve as SPA for outside trainers brought in to train. 
  • Arrange for and conduct on-site training when needed
  • Keep and report data on completed courses, absences, issues etc.
  • Observe and evaluate results of training programs to determine overall effectiveness of programs and suggest or make improvements
  • Create instructor materials (course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids).
  • Continuously enhance technical instructional delivery and presentation skills.
  • Mentor other instructors in the subject matter, content, and course delivery techniques for assigned technical courses.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of course content throughout a course life cycle.
  • Test process with different subjects.
  • Communicate with supervisors and managers of trainees as well as other leaders within the company about specific employees’ progress in training, new methods and ideas to facilitate successful training
  • Manage the training program in accordance with business needs, regulatory requirements, and Quality Management System.
  • Maintains safe and healthy training environment by following organization standards and legal regulations.
  • Ensures operation of training equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Evaluates training by evaluating effectiveness of training to specific job applications.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.



High school graduate or equivalent required.  Associate’s degree preferred

Experience and Background

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in setting up and trouble-shooting forming equipment – headers, rollers, band annealers, etc


  • Demonstrated problem solving and project management abilities
  • Excellent internal/external communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work with little supervision
  • Work well with a team and build relationships
  • Must be able to read, write, and do simple math.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and specification.
  • Must be able to operate forklift.
  • Must be able to use inspection equipment such as micrometers, scales, etc.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and ability.
