We are looking to fill a critical Technical Liaison position that will be responsible for supporting communication and resolution of business and customer issues; including technical, quality, delivery, and commercial. Develops and maintains a relationship with the customer, gaining knowledge of customer products, markets, organization, priorities, issues and business growth opportunities.    Position will be based in San Diego, California and will require substantial travel.
 
Key Responsibilities:
•      Serve as the primary technical liaison within customer site based in San Diego, California
•      Coordinate engineering efforts in design and material selection which lead to cost effective components meeting customer targets for cost and operating performance and Arconic targets of being producible
•      Knowledge and promotion of Arconic technical capabilities, which should contribute to growth, is essential
•      Candidates will be required to interact with customer manufacturing to ensure products meet performance, cost and quality criteria
•      Aid the Account Manager in evaluating all quoting activity for compliance with customer requirements
•      Aid the plants in communication / resolution of first article submittals and deviation requests
•      Identifies and prioritizes important business growth opportunities.
•      Cultivates positive working customer / plant relationships.
 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering from accredited institution
  • Minimum 4 years engineering experience in the investment casting industry
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
Preferred Qualifications
•      Should possess exceptional written and oral communication skills
•      Should be influential at selling technical capabilities directly within customer environment
•      Should possess solid people skills which promote customer loyalty and cooperation
•      Should be able to read blueprints and conceptualize product configurations
•      Should be a proficient computer user; experience with Microsoft Office and Project required
•      Should be a self-starter, manage time effectively and meet deliverable deadlines
•      Six Sigma experience is a preferred skill
•      Previous interaction with this customer is highly preferred
•      Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customer and other employees of Arconic
