Arconic Fastening Systems is looking for a Technical Writer/Editor to create and maintain all aspects of product technical documentation for customer reference.  This position is in their manufacturing facility in Kingston, NY.

Job duties and Responsibilities:
  • Creates detailed product instructional manuals, including CAD, artwork and word content, for distribution to customer;
  • Coordinates updates to and issuance of documents with reproduction and notification services for distribution to customer base;
  • Implements engineering standards, safety practices and obsolescent policies on contents of technical documents;
  • Implements new and changes to technical documents resulting from Engineering Notices;
  • Maintains supply controls of all active manuals to ensure availability for product assembly schedules;
  • Draws and/or adapts existing CAD images to create effective illustrations to accompany user technical documents;
  • Furnishes tables, charts, and other information for publications as requested;
  • Develops and/or checks outline drawings of equipment for customers;
  • Maintains related product information databases utilized by Engineering, Marketing and Technical Publication departments;
  •  Maintains information regarding work queue, output and backlog of technical documents work;
  • Acquires specific knowledge of subject matter by interviewing staff engaged in developing new product and personnel responsible for testing and assembly;
  • Maintains communications with publishing houses to ensure timely and accurate supply of documentation;
  • Maintains communications with other company location(s) (HUCK UK) to keep them apprised of updates etc;
  • Participates in project reviews as needed to evaluate progress or investigate project problems;
  • Maintains Engineering documentation in accordance with specified standards;
  • Cooperates with Sales Personnel, System Specialists and other field and Divisional Personnel as needed;
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.


Qualifications

Education Requirements
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from an Accredited school, preferred in Mechanical Engineering.
