Job Description

Position SummaryEnsure that manufacturing department  is operating  to meet Production, Quaity, and EHS goals and targets.
 
Essential Duties:
  • Assists Line Tech as necessary.
  • Responsible for multiple machining lines to ensure operating according business needs
  • Ensures that all personnel working in or around their department wear personal protection equipment, operate equipment in a safe manner, and follow all safety rules and guidelines.
  • Ensures the quality of the product in his/her department meets the required standards both dimensionally and in appearance.
  • Completes required paperwork.
  • Advises Line Tech, Machining Lead and Supervisor of any requirements for troubleshooting, maintenance or repairs
  • Participates in problem solving and implementation of corrective action for identified problems.
  • Ensure that all production equipment is running at a rate to meet production targets. 
  • Participates in changeovers and makes adjustments to equipment as needed.
  • Ensure line compliance to Start/Stop and Break times to minimize line downtimes
  • Responds needs for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs
  • Follows established help chain for department
  • May perform other duties as requested
     
    Additional Duties:
  • Monitors and responds to alarms and alerts on equipment
  • Ensures proper usage and handling of gages.
  • Assists with the training of operators to meet safety, quality and production standards
  • Partcipate in TPM activities within its production area
  • Ensures all 5S requirements are met
  • Changes dimensions in off set
  • Cleans and wipes oil, coolant, chips or debris from machined wheels
  • Ensures heavy equipment is safely and securely stored
  • Performs 5S and routine preventative maintenance in work area and on equipment
  • Monitors and checks cycle times of wheels on equipment
  • Practices workplace safety
  • Facilitates Human Performance meeting when line technician is unavailable
  • Measures dimensions of wheels using gauges
  • Performs daily safety and maintenance checks
  • Cleans equipment as scheduled and/or required
Physical Demands:
•       Lifting :  Medium - Lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 40 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 25 pounds.
•       Standing:  Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
•       Walking:  Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
•       Bending and Twisting:  Frequently (50% - 80% of workday)
•       Temperature Extremes (percent of time working in non-climate controlled, production environment):  Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
•       Noise (percent of time working in noisy, production environment):  Constantly (greater than 80% of workday)
 

Qualifications

Position Criteria:
  • Extensive experience in the machining of dimensional products
  • Extensive knowledge in the gauging of the product machined in the department
  • Extensive knowledge of the required paperwork for the inspection and documentation of each operation
  • Ability to run all machining lines (High and low lines, Ultra line, and Megaline)
     
    Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma/GED (from an Accredited Institution)
  • Minimum 1 year experience successfully leading a team
  • Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience
