Job Description

Arconic is currently in search of a Systems Analyst/Developer End User Productivity to join our Global Information Services (GIS) Resource Unit in Pittsburgh, PA.
 
The principal challenges of the Systems Analyst/Developer End User Productivity are to participate in the development, deployment and implementation of new systems, technologies and information solutions; understand, support and enhance existing systems and technologies; and to apply Arconic’s standards, procedures and technologies.  The incumbent will also participate as an internal consultant to Arconic's businesses and various customer groups.
 
The End User Productivity team is responsible for the arconic.com corporate website that connects Arconic with customers, suppliers, and other Arconic systems, providing vital communications with known users and the general public, respectively.  The team maintains the environment to ensure continuous operations and actively designs and builds innovative solutions to address business and customer needs.  This role will encompass support and development, as well as participation in the management and planning of the infrastructure and operating environments of the End User Productivity area.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Complete development requests flowing into the team through the support mailbox and task queue for arconic.com - working with internal customers and interpreting requests quickly and accurately to complete development efforts in a timely manner under tight deadlines and accelerated customer timelines
  • Monitor systems and utilize analytics tools to ensure continuous operation and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work alone or as part of a team to develop, implement, evaluate, procure, and/or support computer systems and information solutions that meet the needs of the customer and add the most value to the company.  This is to be accomplished by utilizing technically sound methods of investigation, analysis, design, planning, and scheduling
  • Establish and maintain a high level of customer interaction in order to identify and recommend computer and business solutions to effectively and efficiently satisfy the data processing and information requirements of the business
  • Provide reactionary support and/or preventive maintenance on the systems or technologies in assigned area(s) of responsibility, with minimal supervision
  • Provide advice and counsel to the customers of the systems or technologies in assigned area(s) of responsibility, and to other GBS-IS personnel
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the business processes or technologies in area(s) of responsibility; participate in, and learn how to perform the analysis of the customer's processes to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Follow the project management process in assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Operate within Arconic IS standards and conventions and applicable Arconic Business/Resource Unit IT standards
  • Identify, establish and support value-added cross-functional data and system linkages
  • Follow appropriate methodologies, support processes, and procedures
  • Comply with all guidelines detailed in the IT compliance guidelines (with a specific focus on business partnerships, change control, disaster recovery, and security) for assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • Pursue continuous learning consistent with the movement in the job requirements and changes in technology
  • In addition to individual priorities, manage a single system service or smaller project including project estimates, status communications, and schedules; execute the plans including frequent review with immediate supervisor
  • Lead the discovery, planning, and implementation of process improvements in individual tasks

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in information systems or services, this includes internships or Co-Op experience.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, or Math from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years of diverse programming experience (minimum of 2 different languages)
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, Javascript
  • Experience with JQuery, Bootstrap and similar libraries
  • Experience with Classic ASP (VBScript) environment
  • Experience with ASP.Net (C# and/or VB)
  • Experience with Windows Server and IIS
  • Experience with OpenText Teamsite (formerly Interwoven)
  • Experience with SQL and XML
  • Must demonstrate a solid understanding of system life cycle.
  • Must have strong human relation skills, and be able to interact with internal and external customers, vendors, other IS professionals, and GBS-IS management.
