Position Description
This position is responsible for managing supply base to support customer requirements, planning, quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams by communicating supplier requirements and concerns and acting as the supplier intermediary to ensure that specifications are met and delivery is timely. 
Job Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining alloy and platinum inventories within Arconic Whitehall Casting.  This includes planning, ordering, scheduling, and controlling alloy and platinum inventories daily.
The position also focuses on inventory control processes that decrease inventory, increase velocity, and improve inventory accuracy for both raw material and castings. 
Essential Functions
Analyze the alloy and platinum requirement data and make strategic decisions on alloy purchases and scheduling for JIT delivery.  Verify that the correct charges were made on alloy received.
Leads inventory control initiatives – reviews raw material inventory for accuracy, opportunities to decrease inventory, sell excess alloy or other unneeded material, cycle counting, and improve raw material signals.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 3 years of production control experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous inventory control experience with emphasis in inventory reduction, inventory accuracy, and improvement of JIT raw material delivery;
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing processes;
  • Experience in generating purchase order requisitions;
  • Materials/supply chain related background with emphasis in material planning;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures;
  • Ability to generate reports, write business correspondence and procedures;
  • Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists;
  • Independent, motivated, self-starter who can work with little supervision but also in a team environment;
  • Able to manage multiple projects under time constraints;
  • Solid problem-solving skills and continuous improvement mindset;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and Oracle;
  • APICS – CPIM certified.
