Building and Construction Systems, a business unit of Arconic, is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry.  Arconic Architectural Products (AAP) helps architects, designers, specifiers and installers achieve their own groundbreaking ideas using our Reynobond® %7C Reynolux® products.  We serve the global market with manufacturing facilities in Eastman, Georgia USA and Merxheim, France, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
We have an immediate opening for a Supplier Quality Engineer at our Arconic Architectural Products (AAP) plant in Eastman, GA, Cleveland, OH area, or Pittsburgh, PA area.  Reporting to the Quality Manager, the SQE will manage supplier product related activities including supplier evaluation, quality systems audits and supplier claims; review and provide input for supplier selection; manage issues and drive continuous improvement activities with supplier.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
  • Ensures compliance to procedures outlined in the Supplier Quality Manual. 
  • Participates in Supplier reviews and provides input to Purchasing Department regarding supplier quality.
  • Performs supplier quality system audits
  • Ensures reliability and accuracy of products provided by the supply base.
  • Ensures that nonconforming material is dispositioned in a timely manner
  • Coordinates with suppliers all initiatives relating to supplier quality performance
  • Tracks performance trends and performs quality trend analysis from supplier base and facilitates corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Leads supplier development activities
  • Utilizes lean manufacturing, error proofing, and continuous improvement initiatives to support Supplier base by assisting in development of robust processes that assures quality products and services
  • Provides support to customers and suppliers relative to supply-based issues
  • Lead product investigations and facilitate problem solving to identify on root cause and corrective action. Follow up on actions for verification and ensure completion
  • Handles supplier claims management.
  • Manage relationships and interact with internal staff, outside suppliers, vendors and customers
  • This position requires the ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, suppliers, customers, and the public.
  • Must be able to travel 50-75% to supplier sites 
  • Ability to travel on short notice both nationally and internationally.


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Quality Assurance role in a manufacturing environment
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer Bachelor’s Degree to be in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with architectural paint suppliers or coil coating suppliers.
  • A thorough understanding of use and application of statistical quality assurance methods
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, top management and suppliers.
  • ASQ certifications.
  • Experience using MS office applications.
  • Ability to effectively apply continuous improvement principles and techniques to quality and manufacturing functions
