Position Summary:
 
The Sr. Quality Engineer will provide support for product/process quality by collecting and utilizing data and metrics for proactive engagement. Performs analysis and takes and/or assigns corrective actions as necessary. Manages customer relationships by addressing complaints/concerns related to quality by utilizing the corrective action process and systems including customer owned systems. Reviews drawing and specification packages when necessary for planning activities. Serves as a member of the Engineering Change Board in the absence of the Quality Manager. Assists in the maintenance of 3rd Party certifications. Coaches and mentors inspectors in inspection duties as well as in documenting and controlling nonconforming material.
 
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assists in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system (QMS) with emphasis on Quality process control;
  • Develops, reviews, and edits internal quality specifications and standard work procedures for effectiveness and ensures compliance to corporate, customer, and regulatory requirements;
  • Determines Key Processes within the manufacturing cycle for enhancing quality involvement;
  • Actively participates in the development and analysis of product and process data to establish performance expectancies and to proactively engage in and direct mitigation actions;
  • Maintains the quality presence in a product support team environment;
  • Interfaces with Quality, Engineering and Production Operations to ensure operational processes build product to customer expectation;
  • LEAN manufacturing contributor/facilitator;
  • Evaluates product for utilization of the MRB process;
  • Ability to influence cross functionality as a change agent;
  • Develops, maintains, and trains the corrective action process interdepartmentally;
  • Performs facilitation of corrective action teams;
  • Must possess formal problem-solving skills; A3, 8D, DMAIC;
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings and requirements including engineering specifications and digital engineering models;
  • Must be willing to develop, supervise and train subordinate quality engineers;
  • Must be proficient with MS Office products;
  • Must be a strong communicator, facilitator, team player and leader; should be very good at decision making;
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 3 years or experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing and quality processes;
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with AS9100 QMS;
  • Minimum of 1 year of SAP experience;
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with NADCAP Special Processes;
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with and development of work process flow and control plans;
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with metal fabrication & finishing;
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in process management/improvement;
  • Experience with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES);
  • Experience with Operator Self-Verification programs;
  • Experience utilizing calibrated tooling;
  • Certified 6 Sigma Black Belt / Certified Quality Engineer.
