Job Description

Primary Purpose of the Job
  • Responsible for the R&D order entry process by managing funding for R&D, technical support of operations, and overhead of projects in the financial systems.
  • Process owner of the Oracle Project Systems and an in-house built interface system used to notify location accountants for project approval and interfacing to Oracle Projects upon acceptance
  • Responsible for understanding and testing Oracle project functionality to ensure that the interfacing of data flows accurately between systems, so internal and external reporting can be accomplished. This includes project status changes, customer billings and offsets, and other data flowing into and out of Oracle Projects.
  • Provides analysis and support on a range of issues including monthly forecasting support on projects and overhead and annual department overhead budgets to support the planning process
  • Perform month end closing activities and reporting including account reconciliations, analyzing exceptions revealed during the pre-close and closing processes, and escalating issues to the Accounting Manager
 
Major Activities/Key Challenges
  • Responsible for establishing, maintaining, supporting, and billing projects to locations. Primary contact with locations to establish projects and answering billing questions and issues from locations.
  • Provide monthly analysis and reporting for forecasting results
  • Analysis for billing prior to month-end closing
  • Complete internal Arconic Self-Assessment Tool (ASAT) control testing in the finance area
  • Reporting, analysis, and maintenance of assigned overhead budgets and forecasting results
  • Process owner for the monthly closing activities
  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting for Accounting Manager
  • Back-up for Arconic Technology Center (ATC) processes
 
Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills in combination with system-based reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of Management in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, cross-train, establish priorities, and develop effective action plans to solve issues in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Systems, Discover for querying data and Business Intelligence for reporting.
  • Ad hoc Reporting
Major Customers
  • External Customers - Business Units funding R&D at ATC accountants and project leads, Pittsburgh Financial Shared Service Accounting, and internal audit.
  • Internal Customers - Work with all levels of ATC organization including Division Managers, Project Leaders, and PMO Personnel



Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting or finance 
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
