Arconic is currently in search of a Senior Manager External Reporting to join the Finance resource group in Pittsburgh, PA.
The Senior Manager External Reporting is highly visible with primary responsibility for the preparation of the Company's quarterly and annual filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).  This position is also significantly involved with all other aspects of the quarterly earnings process, including review of the press release, analysts' presentation and all supporting materials. This role also encompasses responsibilities for developing and implementing accounting policies, analysis of monthly financial results, and acquisition and divestiture projects.
The successful individual will report through the Controllership organization, and will work closely with the Controllership team, Financial Planning and Analysis, Investor Relations, Corporate Communications, Legal, Treasury, and Business Unit (BU) colleagues.
Major Activities/Key Challenges:
  • Preparation of all SEC financial filings, including the annual report on Form 10-K; quarterly reports on Form 10-Q; and miscellaneous reports on Form 8-K
  • Assistance with the preparation and review of all quarterly earnings materials
  • Coordination with external auditors (PricewaterhouseCoopers) in all aspects of their auditing and reporting
  • Preparation of various external reporting and regulatory filings with state and federal agencies
  • Compliance with all aspects of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) internal controls with respect to external reporting requirements
  • Developing and implementing procedures for new accounting pronouncements and developing global accounting and reporting standards
  • Analyzing monthly financial results and resolving complex accounting issues
  • Assisting with financial accounting aspects of acquisition and divestiture projects
Essential Knowledge& Skills/Education:
  • Energetic self-starter with the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Extensive knowledge of SEC and U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in preparing SEC filings
  • Possess strong:
  • written communication skills in a style suitable for the filings and reports;
  • analytical skills to interpret and question data and other inputs;
  • organizational skills to ensure maintenance and integrity of data; and
  • attention to detail a must and precision to ensure accuracy of reporting
  • Ability to:
    • quickly evaluate processes and implement efficiencies;
    • guide and coordinate data collection efforts across multiple locations/departments;
    • identify and resolve reporting issues expeditiously to support the company's accelerated closing process;
    • work under stringent deadlines; and
    • multi-task various responsibilities and deliverables


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five (5) years of accounting and reporting experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience with a Big Four accounting firm
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Public Accounting
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience with SEC and U.S. GAAP accounting and reporting
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in assisting and preparing SEC filings
  • Knowledge of due diligence objectives and procedures; experience working on acquisitions and divestitures; knowledge of purchase accounting rules and implementation issues
  • Manufacturing experience with a concentration in the metals industry
  • Experience and knowledge of Workiva financial reporting software
