Primary Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the final finishing of wax and wax/plastic patterns. Three main areas of responsibility accomplish this: removing flash; repair defects; and smooth blends.

Major activities/Key challenges
  • Repair defects in pattern assemblies without changing either the contour or the shape of the pattern by using wax as the filling material.
  • Dressing of pour cups.
  • Attach finished pattern to tree and attach pour cup to pattern gating.
  • If performing gating work, assembly of plastic or wax cross arms and vent plugs must be completed.
  • Reporting by data entry of finished piece into computer inventory system.
  • Preparation of cores (if working on IGT patterns).
  • Blue sealing if working on plastic/wax patterns.
  • Arconic Power and Propulsion Cleveland Operations located at 3960 S. Marginal Road is seeking experienced Wax Finishers to work in our Patterns Business Center.

Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education
  • 12 months wax finishing experience
  • High school diploma required
  • Ability to effectively work AND communicate as part of a cell team.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds


Subject to the limitations below, a successful candidate who satisfies all of the following conditions will be paid a $1,000.00 signing bonus:

  1. The candidate must satisfy all of the qualifications described in this job posting;
  2. The candidate must successfully complete a background screening, including but not limited to an educational and criminal background check;
  3. The candidate must accept an offer of employment from Arconic; and
  4. The candidate must complete at least 4 months of service as an employee of Arconic.

This signing bonus is limited in duration and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The determination whether a signing bonus will be paid shall be made by Arconic in its sole and absolute discretion. Arconic reserves the right to terminate this program at any time and for any reason, with no further liability whatsoever, regardless of the stage of the hiring process in which any candidate has progressed. Any signing bonus will be paid as soon as practicable following the completion of 4 months of service as an employee. The signing bonus will be paid in a normal payroll cycle; will be subject to normal taxes and withholding; and will not be considered compensation under any other benefit plan or program.
