The primary responsibility of this position will be involved with finance and tax work as a member of the State Tax group focusing on Arconic's property tax and negotiated incentive responsibilities as carried out in accordance with the tax laws in the U.S. taxing jurisdictions where Arconic is doing business. The position is within the Corporate Tax Department on the Property Tax and Negotiated Incentives team reporting to the Manager - Property Tax. This position requires property tax and finance experience and knowledge to the level of being able to provide guidance and assistance to both location personnel and the members of the Property Tax and Negotiated Incentives group. The Sr. Tax Accountant is responsible for managing multiple audits and ensuring tax laws are applied accordingly. This position will be responsible for property tax work of various business units along with the ability to analyze and report data. The position will act as a lead in gathering, analyzing and reporting fixed asset information for various US locations. The position will support incentive and credit projects working with State and Local Economic Development groups. The successful candidate should have exposure working with various groups, such as Finance, Accounts Payable (RTP), Property/Fixed Asset Accounting, and Audit.

Major activities/Key Challenges:
  • Preparation of personal property tax returns
  • Coordinate with Arconic Direct and Accounts Payable (RTP) payment processing
  • Analyze and reconcile data from plant locations and assessor’s offices
  • Analyze property tax assessments and invoices
  • Day to day interaction with auditors, location personnel, assessors and Economic Development groups
  • Complete reconciliations to ensure Oracle fixed asset data ties to Tax Software reports
  • Lead and assist with audits – internal and external
  • Balance a multi-tasked schedule handling several projects simultaneously
  • Provide support and/or information to Arconic personnel, throughout the US
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
  • Experienced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Solid communication skills (written, oral, presentation)
  • Reconciliation and audit skills
  • Ability to handle multiple processes/projects, prioritize and plan accordingly


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years' property tax experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years' property tax software experience (PTMS, etc.)
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters of Science in Taxation.
  • Accounting and Audit experience.
  • Experienced knowledge in Microsoft office products - especially Excel, including work with pivot tables.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
