Serve as principal technical liaison between Arconic and select major established Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Tier customers. Establish and lead the strategies to achieve the most cost effective manufacturing approaches for aluminum body, closures and structural panels, and process improvements/cost reductions at clients' stamping and assembly facilities. Identify customer needs and technical barriers, and coordinate support through Arconic Technology Center and direct technical support to sales for the plants. Serve as main quality interface with assigned accounts in defining, planning and facilitating quality audits of Arconic locations. Identify/create new business opportunities through networking and promotion of Arconic's product offerings. Provide input to R&D support programs, and direct select R&D activities to ensure project timing and deliverables are met. Travel is required approximately 5-10% of the time to client and manufacturing locations.
 



SALARY: $97,257 per year

WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hrs/wk

Qualifications

Position requires a Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as Applications Engineer or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience. Qualifying experience must include: industrial manufacturing experience; working with direct automotive OEM or tier supplier; identifying and pursuing growth opportunities; providing engineering design and development direction; supporting material development, qualification and selection; utilizing FEA/Computer Simulation to evaluate production aluminum automotive components; and utilizing understanding of cast and extruded aluminum alloy products and their critical performance characteristics.
