Job Description

Primary Purpose of the Job
  • The Senior Quality Engineer will work with newly targeted areas to deploy quality systems and processes to meet internal and external customer requirements
Major Activities/Key Challenges
  • Leads implementation of quality systems and processes for new areas within the Arconic Technology Center
  • Initiates, identifies, and leads projects to address:
  • New quality system standards, specifications, or customer requirements
  • Management of suppliers and critical materials for operational and development areas
  • Achievement of design and development quality requirements
  • Collaborates with teams on key product and process development projects to enable and drive the use of quality tools
  • Works in partnership with the laboratories to detect, plan, and complete Measurement System Analysis studies using statistical techniques
  • Develops and facilitates training on quality processes and tools to the site
  • Conducts internal audits and follow through on nonconformances to closure. Leads problem solving activities to determine root cause and sustainable corrective action.
  • Partners with operations to identify and drive process stability and capability improvements
  • Accountable for continuously identifying opportunities for improvement and driving actions to closure
Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of seven years of experience with Quality Systems in a Manufacturing or Design & Development environment
  • Working knowledge of Quality Tools such as FMEA, Problem Solving, Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, and Measurement Capability
  • Working knowledge and experience with ISO 9001
  • Internal Auditor Skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills

Basic Qualifications

Basic or Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Science
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with Quality Systems in a Manufacturing or Design & Development environment
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years with manufacturing quality experience
  • Working knowledge and experience with ISO/AS/IATF Quality Standards and system implementation
  • Experience working with external/internal customers, suppliers, and 3rd party auditors
  • Experience with testing laboratories and validation of laboratory testing methods
  • Experience with heat treat processes
  • Experience with statistical analysis software such as Minitab or JMP
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
