Arconic Engines (AEN) is seeking a seasoned Senior Program Manager to lead the commercialization and production ramp-up of our Joint Strike Fighter (JSF)  new product introduction. This position will be based in either our Dover, NJ or Whitehall, MI location.  It is possible the work location could include our plant in Laporte, IN.  The position will be part of the Arconic Engines Commercial organization.


Primary purpose of the Job

Meet and exceed revenue and profit expectations for the JSF engine programs across Arconic

Maintain and enhance Arconic’s market share position on the JSF program

Integrate all commercial, technical, quality and manufacturing initiatives to insure a successful industrialization on all JSF engine hardware awarded to AEN

Develop and manage an industrialization program across Arconic insure targeted costs and capacities are met or exceeded in line with contractual pricing and volume commitments

Support required customer programs to improve customer value of Arconic products

Interface across Arconic to other business units and resource units to develop market share opportunities across Arconic for JSF products

Ensure introduction and implementation of the use of the latest Arconic Technology as appropriate


Major Activities & Key Challenges

Implement across all AEN plants a financial tracking program to develop, track and implement actions necessary to meet and exceed target costs/profits

Implement across all AEN plants a capacity modeling program to develop the full industrialization plan to support future JSF  requirements, including timing and nature of tooling and capital required

Interface with Arconic Corporate resources, such as Arconic Defense, to provide exposure across broader Arconic to the JSF customers and develop market share opportunities for Arconic

Integrate across Arconic to align Arconic activities and initiatives into intended customer programs 

Interface between AEN facilities to insure consistent and optimum approach technically and commercially

This role is primary connection between AEN and Customers

Keep AEN leadership team aware of serious delivery and quality issues which may be escalated by customer

Outstanding interpersonal skills are required to manage often difficult circumstances in which team members and/or customers may disagree with the overall direction of the project or specific issues that may arise

Self-confidence balanced with tact to challenge functional leaders to keep their commitments

Candidate must have ability to manage the customer by tactfully requiring timely information, selling recovery approaches and minimizing customer reactions to project delays by instilling confidence in Arconic’s proposed approach

Candidate must be self-driven with an acute sense of urgency

Ability to create and think through complex development program plans and identify and resolve gaps / risk before they cause issues

Outstanding organizational skills and discipline to build project plans with the ability to also look at the macro view subjectively







  • Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering from accredited institution
    • 5 years of previous work experience with launching new product development programs, including working directly with the customer
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
    • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering from accredited institution
  • MBA from an accredited university
  • Experience in the investment casting business
  • 10 years of previous work experience with launching new product development programs, including working directly with the customer
  • Direct engineering and/or commercial experience working in the investment casting industry
  • Aerospace investment casting experience in Arconic or competitor manufacturing facilities' qualifying new programs
