Job Description:


This position will provide overall Human Resources support and advise to the Wheels Operations team within Arconic Wheel and Transportation Products within the Cleveland Manufacturing Operations group.  The individual serves as an HR business partner to impact business performance and people strategy in a manufacturing environment. This position will provide guidance across employee relations, employment law, recruitment, training, change management and engagement initiatives.
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities:


Under the direction of the BU Human Resources Director and dotted line reporting relationships to the Operations Manager – Cleveland Wheels Manufacturing Group and site Labor Relations Manager, this Senior Human Resources Business Partner is accountable for the following:
  • Provide support to employees and managers in the handling of all human resource related activities which may include:  employee relations, fielding employee questions or concerns, communication and the interpretation of policies, procedures and Labor Agreement.
  • Support HR efforts related to investigations, governmental inquiries / charges, grievance resolution, time and attendance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support operations management in planning, implementing and monitoring activities related to employee engagement.
  • Directs all aspects of recruitment within assigned area; ensuring all activities are in compliance with EEO and company policies and practices.
  • Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, STD and Workers Compensation) in partnership with corporate Third-Party Administrators;
  • Maintain records, reports and logs, including personnel files, job requisitions, I-9s, Self-IDs, Post-Offer Veterans Status, etc.; ensuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality;
  • Review and manage various training programs, as needed.
  • Produce regular reports and present results on HR metrics during daily management review, monthly business review, etc.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience;
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment;
  • Knowledge of federal, state employment, wage and hour laws;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (unionized is preferred) with demonstrated negotiations and conflict resolution capability.
  • Strong communications, interpersonal, leadership and computer skills;
