Job Description

The Senior Director PSGC (Procurement Strategy, Governance and Controlling) leads and develops the Global PSGC organization.The overall goal is to develop and implement a world class procurement organization based on business excellence principles.
  • He/she ensures the optimal collaboration of PSGC with the GBU procurement, the Global Category Management and the Regional Procurement to support the achievement of best results in organizational development, supplier relationship, world class organizational development and full transparency on spend, savings, performance KPIs and compliance.
  • Together with the Global Category Managers he/she is driving the development and execution of global category strategies towards best-in-class standards and ensure highest effectiveness.
  • He/she is directly responsible for all PSGC departments. He/she supports the CPO to drive the Arconic procurement organization to world-class level by establishing the following on global level: best-in-class procurement processes and policies, most efficient procurement organization and utilization of state-of-the-art procurement IT systems and tools. He/she supports the development of highly qualified procurement personnel by developing, organizing and executing excellence training and method developments.

He/she is responsible for the delivery of services in the fields of
• Procurement Strategic Development, Governance, Methods, Tools, PMO, Compliance
• Global Category Management Excellence,
• SRT and KPI Controlling,
• Data Analytics,
• Market Intelligence,
• Vendor Management
• Contract Management
• Specific Procurement projects

Besides these functions, PSGC is responsible for the Project Management of procurement related Kaizen Projects, temporarily also for the project “transfer of procurement relates GSS activities” and the “Logistics projects”
  • Leads all PSGC departments as defined in the organizational chart
  • Provides thought leadership, continually identifies and implements new opportunities for further organizational and processual development opportunities and proactively tracks progress towards these objectives
  • Responsible for Excellence activities like benchmarking and best practice exchange, proactive activities for the further development of procurement processes, tools, methods and IT infrastructure,
  • Training and HR development in methods, tools and processual collaboration
  • Member of the Global Procurement Leadership Team

The selected person will be responsible for driving excellence in the following areas:
(a) Procurement Strategy, Governance, Compliance, Methods, Tools
  • Benchmarking of the strategic procurement function with best-in-class companies
  • and drive the permanent enhancement of the Arconic strategic procurement
  • function
  • Development and maintenance of a structured knowledge management across the procurement organization.
  • Procurement policies, governance and compliance
  • Ownership and World Class development of Methods, Tools and procurement IT-
  • Infrastructure

(b) Global Category Management Excellence
  • Owns and develops the Supplier and Category Strategy Master documents
  • Ensures global Strategy Excellence including LCC and PE strategies
  • Moderates and controls the Category Strategy process, veto rights regarding the release of Global Category Management Strategies
  • Acts as a coach for the Arconic Group Category Management (GCM) functions
  • Chairman of the GCM Steering Team

(c) Controlling and Data analytics
  • Steers the Arconic Procurement Target setting process for GBUs/Bus, Category Management and other participating stakeholders (e.g. GBU targets, Group targets)
  • Responsible for the tracking of the SRT status, the savings ramp up monitoring and the savings reporting, Cash targets and other relevant KPIs
  • Ensures best in class data transparency on spend, suppliers (Pi2P),
  • Management of supplier master data (Procurement data)
  • Market intelligence (market developments, head/tail winds, baselining for SRT and business impact)
  • Co-Chairman of the Procurement KPI Steering Team (Chairman is the CPO)

(d) Vendor- and Contract management
  • Responsible for the supplier management process (process, yearly activities, scoring, initiation activities with suppliers, …)
  • Responsible for Global contract management, documentation of supplier contracts, development of innovative contract elements (e.g. Arconic IP rights)

(e) Projects, Project Management and PMO activities
  • Responsible for procurement related Kaizen- and development projects
  • PMO role for procurement activities, including regularly GPLT meetings and additional project activities (e.g. project GSS transfer)
  • Co-Chairman of the Procurement PMO Steering Team (Chairman is the CPO)

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in an international purchasing/procurement/category management position.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing complex, international procurement organizations (e.g. CPO, Procurement Group functions).
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • International working experience, intercultural intelligence, including language skills and intense travelling.
  • Prior Finance experience within a global organization.
