Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) is seeking an IT Manufacturing Business Analyst to join the project team for a multi-million-dollar ERP implementation at a state of the art manufacturing facility in Torrance , CA.
The implementation is also a technical uplift affecting a range of diverse legacy applications and allows the right candidate to the opportunity to work with a dynamic team to design and develop innovative solutions.
The right candidate will have experience with QAD or other mid-market ERP systems such as; Baan, ERPLN, M3, Epicor, Sage, or Syteline. The candidate will be review, analyze, and evaluate business processes and organizational needs with a focus on manufacturing business operations. This will encompass processes such as order to cash and plan to produce. The business analyst will be involved in system master data setup and business process configuration. In this role, the candidate is responsible for working with key business stakeholders and IT developers to resolve business issues. The candidate will create training documentation, work instructions, testing packages, excel tools, and technical specifications for developers. The candidate will need to interact directly with business owners and users, as well as functional Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Support staff to accomplish project milestones. The candidate will propose; new solutions to business problems, and develop replacement solutions for existing obsolete software. The candidate will follow defined departmental standards, define new standards as appropriate, and transfer knowledge to end users and other members of the IT team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs;
  • Participate as a team member on a ERP implementation;
  • Work directly with internal customers to analyze, and document existing business processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP);
  • Work directly with internal customers to determine business processes improvements and system modifications;
  • Identify and gather business requirements using; use cases, data modeling, process modeling, context diagrams, systems diagrams, etc;
  • Develop functional specifications, test cases, and test plans for system modifications.
  • Responsible to test system changes within specified functional areas, and regression testing;
  • Maintain an expertise within the appropriate QAD functional area and configuration;
  • Provide end-user support for QAD, using current internal support processes and tools;
  • Create and manage support tickets and coordinate support activities as needed.
  • Develop and provide end user training;
  • Act as the liaison between the sites, technology teams and support teams;
  • Act as an expert on manufacturing data relating to shop floor processes, engineering, and planning functions.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in business system analysis and business process improvement;
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ QAD or other ERP systems with manufacturing experience;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment. eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
