Job Description

Arconic is currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and analytically-minded team member to join our Strategy and Business Transformation (SBT) team as a Senior Analyst of Commercial Analytics. This position plays a key role supporting the Growth Program Office (GPO) team and will lead company-wide programs analyzing commercial data to support business priorities. This individual will have a keen interest in commercial operations and support growth initiatives across the business. The role is based at our Corporate Center in Pittsburgh, PA and reports directly to the Senior Program Manager of the GPO. 
 
Organizational Context
 
The mission of the Strategy and Business Transformation (SBT) organization is to support both Arconic Business Units and corporate Resource Units with formulation of Corporate Strategy, Strategic Market Analysis and Commercial Excellence practices. This includes project execution to inform strategic decisions, maintaining global market forecasts for establishment and monitoring of Business Unit commercial plans, and deployment of commercial excellence tools like SalesForce.com. The GPO team, in partnership with the commercial organizations of Arconic’s business units (BUs), supports driving profitable growth by creating customer transparency and improving commercial effectiveness. The primary responsibilities of the GPO team include managing the deployment of Salesforce.com across Arconic, conducting financial analyses of key customers directly for c-suite leadership, leading market research studies to identify growth opportunities and assess competitive behavior, and manage the Customer Experience (CX) program. The CX program, in direct partnership with the businesses, leverages customer feedback from surveys and advanced analytics to shape continuous improvement initiatives.
 
Two additional teams are part of the SBT organization, the Strategy & Business Initiatives (SBI) team and three Market Sector Teams (MSTs). The SBI team is Arconic’s Corporate Strategy group and is responsible for setting the future direction of the company in partnership with leaders of the business and other corporate functions. The primary mission of the three MSTs (Aerospace, Ground Transportation, and Defense) is to provide market and customer transparency, identify global market trends, and dimension growth opportunities in support of business growth targets.     
 
Position Overview
 
The Sr. Analyst role requires individuals to be versatile and resourceful as they support projects across a wide spectrum from commercial analytics to growth strategy to tactical commercial excellence topics. The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for:
  • Managing the Customer Experience (CX) program, evolving it further on the path to best-in-class and driving the execution of the survey and all subsequent analyses. Additional focus includes survey design and implementation, statistical analyses, improving quality of customer feedback and incorporating customer feedback in BU strategic planning
  • Developing and executing competitive benchmark studies on behalf of the business to provide insights on competitors from the voice of the customer
  • Create insights into Arconic’s businesses, markets, competitors, and customers through fact-based analysis
  • Managing the quarterly revenue reporting process on behalf of the Corporation, conducting analyses and generating reports on rolled-up revenue data across all business entities
  • Supporting the planning and execution of strategic projects with the commercial teams to build growth capabilities and mindsets and to deliver positive revenue and EBITDA impact 
To accomplish this, the Sr. Analyst will work with various stakeholders including Business Unit (BU) account managers and commercial leaders, Group and Business Unit level finance teams, Market Sector Team leaders, and others. The Sr. Analyst role involves exposure to multiple aspects of Arconic’s businesses and challenging development opportunities.

- Progress directly to more senior roles within SBT
- Attend graduate school with an option of returning to SBT as a manager after attaining an advanced degree

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, economics, finance, science or engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a business or strategy role
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's in Business Administration (MBA)
  • 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Proven ability to manage concurrent projects and prioritize demands
  • Previous exposure to basic statistical analysis techniques and financial modeling
  • Demonstrated influential oral communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking ability, exceptional analytical and financial acumen
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry
  • Exposure to industrials, automotive, commercial aerospace and/or defense markets
  • High level of proficiency with MS PowerPoint and Excel
