Arconic Engineered Structures (AES) is seeking finance professional for a Segment Controller supporting locations in North America, Europe and Asia. This is a highly visible, analytical position that provides business leadership and guidance to executive and business unit leadership in manufacturing, sales/marketing and finance for Arconic Engineered Structures and reports to the VP of Finance, AES.

Profile: The AES Extrusions and Forge Segment Controller will have responsibility working with locations in North America, Europe, and Asia. The AES Extrusions and Forge Segment Controller will manage business unit forecasting, planning, reporting, consolidation and analysis functions. The Segment Controller will also develop and manage processes to ensure compliance with ASAT and other internal audit requirements as well as providing leadership, guidance, coaching, and mentoring to Location Controllers and Finance Teams.

Essential Functions: The Segment Controller, AES position includes both creation of strategic vision, and tactical management including execution, examples include but are not limited to:
  • Identify and recommend key opportunities to drive business improvement in manufacturing operations.
  • Determine and implement, in conjunction with BU and manufacturing leadership, targeted goals for profitability, productivity, cycle time, inventory, optimization, delivery and quality as well as headcount adequacy
  • Implement and continuously improve the daily performance management system.
  • Actively participate in business reviews and brainstorming for growth/profit improvement opportunities.
  • Actively manage the Capital requirement process and forecasting (IRR, Payback, etc…)
  • Track execution of cost savings projects for the BU and manage the reporting process in the cost savings system as well as developing and enhancing the cash management system
  • Mentor the finance and operations organizations to promote a better understanding of financial tools and metrics designed to enhance profitability.
  • Major role in reviewing monthly and quarterly forecasts from the segment facilities.
  • Major role in coordinating and preparing analysis for the annual business plan for the business segment and reporting to executive leadership.
  • Financial analysis for special projects, as required.
  • Analyzing financial data, identifying and reporting progress toward budget commitments, financial performance achievements and trends, and identifying opportunities to influence financial performance.
  • Play a major role in driving the compliance activities to meet SOX criteria and internal Self-assessment Tool requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Economics and Accounting — Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Mastery of Technology Skills — Accounting and Finance software: Hyperion, Oracle E-Business Suite; Spreadsheet software: Microsoft Excel; Office Suite software: Microsoft Office
  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Law and Government — Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience managing or supervising others in a direct reporting relationship
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or consulting experience highly desirable.
  • Expert at Microsoft Excel, all Hyperion planning and reporting applications.
  • Experience in using queries, including Essbase, Hyperion, Oracle or similar systems.
  • Previous experience with cost accounting.
