SUMMARY:


The Sales & Operations Planning Manager is responsible to lead a team of Supply Chain professionals focused on supporting operational and manufacturing requirements through sourcing, supplier management, production planning, and inventory management. This leadership role will design and execute strategies to achieve both short-term and long-term supply chain management objectives.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Duties and responsibilities include the following; other duties may be required and assigned at any time.


  1. Coordinates and communicates cross functionally with Sales, Account Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Finance to incorporate and maintain customer and business requirements into production planning.
  2. Develop and sustain strategic inventory management plan with defined inventory levels for Raw, WIP, & Finish Goods
  3. Direct the activity of the Production Control and Supply Chain departments to ensure operational excellence in order promising, master scheduling, material deliver and input/output control to achieve exceptional performance to customer commitments.
  4. Oversees all outsourced manufacturing activities to ensure coordination with and execution to the master schedule.
  5. Measures and communicates supplier delivery metrics.
  6. Measures and communicates operations plan schedule attainment and master schedule attainment, and initiates root cause problem solving to analyze variability and improve performance
  7. Designs, measures and communicates metrics that track the effectiveness of production planning and manufacturing execution.
  8. Coaches and develops all members of the production control team through training, mentoring and the development of consistent planning tools.
  9. Develops and maintains tools that will provide visibility to shortages and prioritize requirements.
  10. Analyzes and troubleshoots problems in planning and execution, and generates alternatives to resolve both internal and external processing constraints.
  11. This position requires strong interpersonal and negotiation skills; self-starter skills; experience with querying databases; excellent complex analytical skills; and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Directly supervises 2-4 employees in the Materials departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Familiar with ERP systems
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.
 
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position 
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
