This opening is in our Arconic Architectural Products business. We are the leading manufacturer of an aluminum composite material (ACM) known as Reynobond. Reynobond is primarily used in the commercial construction industry. Arconic Architectural Products (AAP) is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The Retail/Industrial Program Development Manager is responsible for the promotion, profitable sale and share of market for all ACM & Profile products with special emphasis on national companies for specifications of signage, fascia programs, and building cladding into Corporate Identity Programs of the retail building and construction market. The primary function is to work with the retail decision makers to establish AAP products as approved for use on their branded retail facilities and to proactively pursue new applications for AAP products outside of the established B&C market.

Major Activities and Key Challenges Include:

The position requires dealing with an established customer base and end users as well as market development with new customers/end users and opportunities.
  • Manage existing National Accounts programs
    • Manage/Monitor National Accounts Program Finished Goods
    • Manage/Monitor National Accounts Program coil inventory
    • Continued communication on all National Accounts Programs via direct contact with end users, sales managers, AAP customers and related architects and engineer firms.
    • Continue to develop approved color samples for changes in current programs. (i.e. Ford and Slate Gray)
    • Manage current program approved colors and communicate approvals to sales force.
    • Monthly and quarterly reporting on programs to National Sales Manager
    • Provide monthly demand and program forecasts for existing programs to assist in managing operational capacity requirements and inventories.
  • Develop new Corporate Identity (CID) programs & pursue new applications for AAP products
    • Participate in CID related Trade Shows and Summits
    • Work closely with Marketing Department on trade shows
    • Research and recommend which shows/summits to participate in
    • Work with Architects/Specifiers/Designers of end users to secure product specifications, bidding opportunities and contracts.
    • Work with AAP customers to secure product specifications, bidding opportunities and contracts around CID Programs
    • Assist Sales Managers on potential new programs
    • Work with AAP customers for engineering and budget pricing
    • Work with manufacturing/supply chain in determining color matches, pricing, production and inventory for potential new programs.
    • Monthly and quarterly reporting on programs to National Sales Manager.
    • Provide monthly demand and program forecasts for new programs to assist in managing operational capacity requirements and inventories.
Location and Travel Requirements: National travel is required, approximately 50%.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years’ sales or marketing experience in the building or construction industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Economics, Architectural or similar.
  • 3 years of field sales experience is preferred.
  • 7 years of ACM or B&C experience is preferred.
  • Ability to promote and sell a variety of products and solutions.
  • Ability to counsel with customers on matters of promotion, bidding, sales, and installation processes.
  • Effective communication skills with both internal and external customers (architects, fabricators, contractors).
  • Mechanical aptitude with a general interest in architecture and/or construction.
  • Results oriented with a high level of work intensity.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated.
  • Needs to be able to work independently for extended periods.
  • Possess a high degree of enthusiasm and displays a positive attitude.
  • Customer driven and yet still able to balance the company goals and objectives against the customer needs.
  • Computer skills and proficiency in MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) necessary.
