Job Description

The principle accountability of this role is to develop, apply and enforce quality standards and metallurgical practices to assure Halethorpe Extrusions, Inc, product integrity. the manager is responsible for ensuring that customer expectations are clearly understood and translated into manufacturing practices. Emphasis will be on establishing, implementing and maintaining Quality Systems that are customer focused, value added, and fully integrated with the Arconic Business System.  
  • Ensure that quality standards are aligned with customer requirements and that they consistently meet customer expectations.
  • Administer all customer specifications, abstracts, industry specifications to assure customer needs and product integrity standards are met.
  • Develop, establish and deploy process control and capability to ensure and maintain product quality while minimizing cost and maximizing productive capacity.
  • maintain the location procedures and work instructions.
  • Apply metallurgical and quality best practices.
  • Assess Halethorpe's quality performance and develop corrective actions where necessary.
  • Act as the lab supervisor and optimize the performance efficiency and effectiveness of the mechanical test laboratory.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable requirements of AS9100, ISO900a, 2000, ISO/IEC 17025:2005, and Nadcap.
  • Maintain the instrument and to, calibrations system, including all conventional measurement tools, electrical conductivity instruments, and furnace pyrometry instruments (excluding safety instrumentation).
  • Oversee thermal processes with authority for procedures and protocols associated with solution heat treating, quenching, aging, and associated operations.
  • Monitor and report financial and non-financial quality indicators such as unplanned scrap, unplanned rework customer claims and returns (PPM)
  • Track the timely completion of preventative equipment checks.
  • Provide quality training and maintain non-safety related training records for employees.


Basic Qualifications: •Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
•Minimum 5 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.
•Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 

•Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
•Experience in ISO 9100, or Nadcap experience
