Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) is seeking a Quality Supervisor to help direct and assist the quality teams in obtaining efficient operation of the quality activities.  Maintain a customer focus (quality and on-time delivery are priority) and direct and supervise activities of quality personnel. This position is located at the AFS aerospace distribution facility in Simi Valley, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the quality teams in evaluating quality of products to meet the customer’s quality and on-time delivery requirements.
  • Supervise work teams and individuals in the areas of personnel actions in compliance with company policies.
  • Schedule/ approve overtime, vacations and other personnel administrative requests.
  • Assist in setting and achieving productivity and quality targets for the various teams.
  • Be proactively involved in corrective action and problem-solving strategies.
  • Supports continuous improvements in operational processes and systems.
  • Actively pursues and identifies root causes of non-conformance.
  • Leads and promotes the quality assurance philosophy including preventive quality systems and Internal Audit Program.
  • Establish procedures for site’s housekeeping and 5S implementation.
  • Prepare production reports and forms.
  • Attend daily staff meeting.
  • Perform other tasks as needed in support of QA Manager.
  • Support ongoing compliance with AS9100 & AS9120, ISO9001, and ISO/IEC 17025 system requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution;
•Minimum of one (1) year in a quality role in a production or manufacturing environment;
•Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a supervisory role in a production or distribution environment;
•Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
•This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:
•Minimum of three (3) years in a quality role in a production or manufacturing environment;

•Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role in a production or distribution environment;
•Knowledge of aerospace industry / products;
•ASQ Quality Engineering (CQE), Manager Quality-Organizational Excellence (CMQ-OE) or Six Sigma trained Knowledge of operating systems such as Oracle;
•Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
•Experience with TPS/ Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing principles and programs.
