Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) is looking for a qualified Quality Assurance Manager at our fastener manufacturing plant in Waco, TX. The Quality Manager has the responsibility and authority for implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System, including but not limited to: ISO/TS9000/IATF16949/LAB standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and establishes the product and process specifications.
  • Develops vendor ratings.
  • Reviews and evaluates government contracts.
  • Supervise and schedule all Final Inspection and Lab and testing activities in order to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Design and prepare procedures to support Quality operations.
  • Maintain effective operations selection, development, training and motivation of personnel.
  • Coordinate and conduct customer and accreditation audits of the Quality operations.
  • Ensure that gage calibration system is effective and complies with company operating procedures.
  • Ensure that testing operations are performed within guidelines of customer and national accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain a record and documentation system for testing and calibration that complies with both Arconic Fastening Systems and customer accreditation requirements.
  • Confers with customers, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to coordinate planning, scheduling, and directing of quality assurance activities. Receives and acts upon customer inquiries regarding quality.
  • Maintains, analyzes, and reviews product records.
  • Enhance and implement effective measurement on quality performance with specific focus on customer complaints and product consistency
  • Enhance and implement the internal audit system and associated corrective actions
  • Manage and improve the non conforming material review and control process
  • Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing, Engineering and other support departments on Inspection procedures and operations.
  • Participate in the performance of customer and Industry accreditation audits of testing and calibration issues.
  • Provides technical guidance to research and development and sales personnel.
  • Directs and schedules laboratory and inspection activities in support of manufacturing and engineering procedures.
  • Directs the activities of subordinates; makes recommendations for hire, disciplinary action, promotions, and salary adjustments.
  • Daily contacts with manufacturing and engineering personnel in administering product quality assurance measures.
  • Works with all departments to improve/implement Process Management techniques and guidelines as appropriate
  • Contacts with customers to discuss special products, problems, and to investigate product failures.
  • When performing any tasks involving hazardous chemicals or hazardous wastes, follow the regulations and requirements of SPCC Plan, RCRA regulations and operation procedures involving hazardous chemical outlined in the Huck Fastener Environmental Management System.
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Arconic Guide to Business Conduct.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of and commitment to Arconic Business Systems manufacturing principles and techniques.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a Quality management role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2 years leading a strategic Quality organization for systems, processes, and products,
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Institution
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA
  • Experience with and knowledge of lean management tools.
  • Quality Engineering certification (ASQ, CQE, CQA)
