ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.
 
  • Primary responsibilities are to develop, control, troubleshoot, and improve processes, procedures, and work instructions for products produced at Arconic Engines, Savannah Operations.
  • Manage Corrective Action and Supplier Performance systems to drive improvements, both internally and with our suppliers.
  • Support and follow the quality system to prevent any defective pieces from leaving the facility and reaching the customer.
  • Review customer complaints, analyze returns and make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Determine root causes of deviations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions in order to minimize future disruption to manufacturing.
  • Conduct annual internal quality audits and systems surveys.
  • Update and augment group Quality Assurance procedures and systems.
  • Continually strive to improve: testing methods, tooling, and equipment through statistical sampling, that will ensure adequate quality in our manufactured product.
  • Work with Engineering to develop simple and efficient methods of testing new product lines.
  • Monitor assigned manufacturing processes through audits and daily evaluations, to ensure that processes are being followed, and short cuts are not being taken, jeopardizing the quality of our product.
  • Provide support as deemed necessary by management to allow the Quality Department to function efficiently.
  • Remain flexible with daily activities in order to handle emergency issues as they arrive.
  • Travel as necessary to customers and suppliers to control problem areas.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Quality Manager.
  • Work in a safe manner that promotes the health and well-being of the individual and the environment.
  • Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions.
  • Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisor.
  • Review revisions in quality documentation to make sure that all technical requirements are met.
  • Support production in daily activities.
  • Disposition process violations in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit concessions to the customer for review and disposition.
  • Improve all processes within the manufacturing line to minimize quality events.
  • Work actively on continuous improvement and cost reductions to achieve the company’s financial objectives.
  • Communicate regularly with internal employees and customers.
  • Perform various department and/or company projects, including planning, organizing data collection, and presentation of results.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.  
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Quality or Process/Product Engineering role within a manufacturing environment. 
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or Materials Science from an accredited institution. 
  • 5+ years relevant work experience.
  • Experience in Aerospace manufacturing. 
  • Strong working knowledge and experience working with Quality systems and specifications.
  • AS9100 specification experience is desired.
