Arconic Fastening Systems (AFS) is seeking a Quality Control Tech III for our Lab department on 2nd Shift for our Sylmar, CA location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Good communication skills & know basic shop math
• Ability to work in fast paced environment                                               
• Basic understanding of work instructions, routers, blueprints, drawings, and specifications in English                        
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as required                                                        
• Able to lift/move up to 30 pounds regularly              
• Able to follow and carryout instructions
• Must be detailed oriented
• Become familiar with the Daily Management board and understand covered topics as required   
 • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to recognize a properly executed analysis or test to distinguish between valid data, and to justify invalidating data
• Ability to ensure on-going compliance to drawing, specification and contractual requirements including the requirements as specified in ISO/IEC 17025
• Ability to schedule outside testing   
• Able to work with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers & optical comparators)    
• Able to use sampling plans, drawing, instructions, standards and specifications to verify product acceptance with assistance                               
• Ability to prepare quality lab documentation
• Ability to expedite orders through lab
• Reviewing raw material for compliance with appropriate specifications
• Ensuring all testing is complete and results are legible
• Able to perform at minimum 2 of the 4 tests (with assistance if needed)

- High Cycle Fatigue Testing
-Stress Rupture Testing
-Microhardness Testing
-Macro Examination of samples

• Ability to mounting, polishing and etching samples for micro and macro examination 


Basic Qualifications:
  • Highschool diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a Quality Lab Tech role in aerospace manufacturing
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Inspection Experience Preferred
  • Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing environment
