This opening is in our Kawneer business which is located in Harrisonburg, VA. We are the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The Project Manager role is an entry level position that will provide a customer-centric focus and enhance organizational revenues through the efficient and effective management of construction related projects and services for assigned customers and geographic area.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure scope of project is consistent with quotes and customer needs, maintain customer contact to ensure coordination and proper schedule of all products and services, develop and maintain accurate forecast and receivables;
  • Proactively monitor and manage backlogs to ensure proper execution of projects;
  • Order entry and order transfer processing;
  • Problem resolution for field issues, application or general technical issues;
  • Coordinate with customers and various internal team members concerning material and project requirements, as well as production, delivery and submittal schedules;
  • Provide coordination, correspondence and assistance to our customers and internal Kawneer personnel while maintaining customer relations and confidence;
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of bid documents, correspondence and other project specific information;
  • Pro-actively work to earn new orders via consultative service and communication.
Major Activities and Key Challenges Include:
  • Good communication skills with customers, sales representatives, and other departments, both written and verbal;
  • Good organization ability with emphasis on documentation and planning;
  • Good computer skills including proficiency with MS Office products, and the ability to learn proprietary software;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and problem solve;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with general supervision;
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with customers, team members, management, vendors, etc.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within a customer service environment;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related field from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience;
  • Construction industry knowledge and / or experience;
  • Broad knowledge of window wall, curtain wall and storefront products and their applications;
  • Understanding of the Glazing Industry and products, covering both design and applications.
