Job Description

This opening is with Arconic Engines – a world leader in the investment casting of superalloys primarily for jet aircraft and industrial gas turbine markets.
The primary role of this position is to develop, enhance, and support systems that capture, visualize, and analyze data collected from quality inspection equipment on the shop floor of a manufacturing facility.  Initial job responsibilities will be participation in a major upgrade to the primary quality data collection system used across the Arconic Engines business unit. Subsequent assignments will include the support and enhancement of that system including connection to additional data sources, cross integration with other systems, and developing tools for data visualization and analysis.
This role will require significant interaction with manufacturing, automation, engineering, and IT resources across the manufacturing locations making effective communication skills essential.  The qualified candidate must be a self-starter capable of managing medium sized projects within an established budget and timeline.
Primary responsibilities include: 
  • Analyze, design, develop, and implement shop floor data collection systems in a manufacturing environment.  Assignments will include work on large projects, small enhancements, and on-going support and troubleshooting.
  • Interact with business process and system owners to effectively understand requirements and implement  appropriate system capabilities. 
  • Use various software tools and technologies to assist the business with data visualization, statistical analysis, and engineering/manufacturing problem solving.
  • Utilize a standardized process to manage projects, communicate status, and deliver work to schedule, within budget, and in accordance with necessary audit and regulatory requirements.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, Mechanical/Manufacturing/Quality Engineering, Information Technology, or Math/Statistics.
  • 1+ years of practical experience in one or more of the above disciplines.
  •  Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work across various information technology and business functions.
  • Strong working knowledge of C# and SQL in a Microsoft environment.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization using such tools Excel, Power BI, Minitab, and %22R%22.
  • Experience with manufacturing data collection/inspection equipment connectivity to computer hardware/systems.
  • Self starter capable of managing small to medium sized projects.
