This opening is in our Kawneer business located in Springdale, AR. We are the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic’s global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The Production Supervisor in our Fabrication Department is responsible for managing the Wall Line, Window Line, Gen Fab, ISO Strut, Pour & Debridge, and Brake and Shear Departments including day-to-day execution, developing the strategic plan that aligns with plant priorities, and balancing labor between departments.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide and develop safe working environments for all employees, ensuring adherence to all EHS policies and procedures, with a major focus on Lock Out Tag Out, Machine Guarding, Hand and Finger protection;
  • Provide Employee Development by monitoring performance measurement, including preparing and administering performance reviews and disciplinary action when appropriate;
  • Perform management of time and attendance, including covering vacation and scheduling OT, proactively flex staffing for mix/demand;
  • Foster a work environment that engages a diverse work force in continuous improvement activities;
  • Provide On-Time In-Full [OTIF] management by managing work load to meet promised customer delivery time;
  • Provide Employee Development by Material Delinquency Reporting [MDR] & late work orders, including investigations and root cause problem solving;
  • Provide problem analysis and resolution, specifically with hour by hour performance management to metrics;
  • Develop and maintain all quality, process management and production standards;
  • Drive autonomous maintenance program;
  • Assist employees with work process problems;
  • Develop standardized work and audit work for improvements;
  • Develop, implement, and maintain current standard work for subordinates and leaders.;
  • Complete Leaders Standard Work and review with immediate supervisor.

Major Activities and Key Challenges Include:

  • Maintain demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others;
  • Possess the ability to think ahead and plan over a 90-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results;
  • Experience with Quality management, Kaizen training, Safe Work environments, and Toyota Production Systems;
  • Ability to measure performance to goals and standards;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Possess strong computer literacy.
  • Employee is required to follow all safety and health requirements listed in the applicable procedures and work instructions.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineering degree from an accredited institution.

• 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment;

• Experience in Fabrication;

• Smart Manufacturing experience;
