Arconic Fastening Systems is seeking a Production Supervisor for second shift. Primary Purpose:
 
Prioritize, coordinate, and expedite the daily workflow through manufacturing process for areas of responsibility.
 
Major Activities: 
  • Coordinates the flow of material, parts, and/or assemblies both inside and outside of assigned work area from the first stage of operation to the last.
  • Provides daily management leadership and guidance for employees and ensures that Environmental Health & Safety compliance, Quality, delivery, and productivity expectations are met. Coordinates communication throughout work area from all levels of associates.
  • Use QAD/MRP systems to ensure accurate labor clocking, efficiency, and utilization for employees in the area as well as managing employee schedules on a daily basis.
  • Participates and coordinates with Planner to ensure all customer delivery dates are met and to maximize efficiencies in the department.
  • Works closely with manufacturing engineer and other team members to resolve problems to root cause.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to drive the culture of Continuous Improvement.
  • Provides information to assist in forecasting labor requirements and recommends equipment or layout changes.
  • Maintain active communication with manager and associates to establish overall work area goals, performance, understand capacity, and identify and communicate the daily workflow.
  • Participates in the employment/termination process; conducts performance evaluations, coaching, and counseling sessions, and salary reviews for personnel and is responsible for the application of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provides guidance for other supervisors’ development and growth in the department.
  • Proficient computer skills. Proficient math skills, shop math (trigonometry)                       
  • Read and understand blue prints
  • Solid interpersonal skills.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Institution
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in manufacturing OR 6+ months of experience working in an Arconic manufacturing facility
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree is in Engineering, from an accredited institution
  • Experience with the manufacturing of precision machined metal components
  • Experience in a machine shop
  • Experience with TPS/ Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing principles and programs
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
