Job Description

    1. Coordinates the flow of material, parts and/or assemblies both inside and outside of assigned work area from the start (work order issue) to the last (put to stock) to ensure that jobs are completed and delivered on time per the Master schedule.
    2. Coordinates with the Processing department by making daily rounds and discusses any problems or concerns regarding priorities.
    3. Coordinates with inspection when problems arise to maintain work order completion dates against the master schedule.
    4. Facilitates the flow of information between production supervisors, design engineers, manufacturing engineers and other related personnel in order to solve any problems on expediting the designated priority jobs.
    5. Checks with production leads to ensure that tooling is available for jobs coming or for jobs in queue.
  2. PLANS
    1. Plans the movement and priority of individual jobs in order to meet the delivery dates of the Master schedule as determined by the Program Manager.
    2. Reviews and maintains the inventory shortage report spreadsheet for availability of needed materials to fill customer orders.
    3. Confers with department heads regarding overdue purchases.
    4. Perform necessary transactions in the MRP system.
    5. Receives and issues components or raw materials as required.
    6. Maintains awareness of current location and status of all components on the priority list.
    1. Follow-up, obtain prints, and standards to ensure product continues to flow through the factory.
    2. Solves various scheduling problems working with area leads and associates.
    3. Suggests work-arounds, corrects router errors, and recommends permanent routing changes to Engineering, Methods, and Operations.
    1. Contacts Program Manager when unable to independently resolve issues on a given part.
    2. Informs Program Manager if a job will not meet commit dates.
    3. Updates daily a shortage report spreadsheet to show the status and location of high priority jobs.
    1. Moves completed new program work orders to the next step whenever stamped-off as required.
    2. Audits production areas to verify and maintain the flow of work orders through the manufacturing process.
    3. Expedites processing of goods in accordance with priorities and predetermined schedules.
    4. Actively stages jobs to reduce queue time, processing time, and idle time.
  6. Provides training to other employees on job processes, procedures, and functions
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be willing to work Monday through Friday from 5am to 1:30pm.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Comprehend English: read/write/speak.
  • 3 years of scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Self-motivated, good communication skills, good negotiating skills needed to interact with employees at all levels inside the company.
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Computer skills
    • Email- MS Outlook
    • Spreadsheets – MS Excel
    • Word Processing – MS Word
  • Data entry
  • Walking and/or Standing. Approximately 50% of time.
  • Lifting 10 lbs max.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Database – MS Access.
  • Associates degree.
