Arconic Engines is looking for a Production Planner who is responsible for properly planning and scheduling all work order routers in order to timely meet customer sales order demands. The Production Planner is responsible for inventory management of all work in process and finished goods inventories and to ensure the levels of kept in line with budgetary goals. The Production Planner responsible for full maintenance of the facility’s MRP and scheduling system, ensuring proper maintenance and upkeep needs are meet.  This position is located in Rochester, NY.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Run ‘what if’ schedules to identify how to best utilize resources, to cope with peaks and valleys of work center loads;
  • Make necessary adjustments to the Visual MRP/TOC scheduling moduals as required to ensure proper work flow throughput, and on-time customer deliveries;
  • Notify sales personnel of work center capacity constraints;
  • Identify incorrectly scheduled work orders, and reschedule;
  • Run Global Scheduler daily;
  • Lead Visual scheduler Implementation activities;
  • Troubleshoot visual schedule when necessary;
  • Write procedures and maintain procedures for scheduling work orders;
  • Write and maintain procedures for determining lead times;
  • Ensure all company personnel are keep informed of current lead-time status;
  • Train personnel on the use of the visual scheduler as required;
  • Expedite work orders in manufacturing;
  • Conduct daily production meetings and update status on jobs that may be behind schedule or falling behind schedule, and assign appropriate action items to key FRM personnel;
  • Work on continuously improving production lead-time, on time delivery, reducing WIP inventory, reducing finished goods inventory, and reducing raw material inventory;
  • Develop a constructive daily dialog with key departmental shop personnel;
  • Liaise with purchasing to ensure optimal raw material inventory management;
  • Report monthly on production goals and throughput performance;
  • Meet and maintain a customer demand of 95% on-time delivery performance;
  • Dialog with customers, and make customer visits as required;
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution;
  • Minimum of 1 year of MRP experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience with Excel functions such as pivot tables, vlookup, and formulas;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance from an accredited institution;
  • APICS, CPIM, CIRM certification;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access;
  • Familiarity in various types of bar stock including steel, aluminum, titanium, and nickel-based alloys;
  • Familiarity and understanding of various inventory management systems such as Forecasts, JIT, Min/Max, etc.
