Job Description

Primary Purpose of Role:
Under general direction of the Global Product Director,  the Product Manager will manage a portfolio with the objective of maximizing Kawneer's competitive positioning vis-à-vis competition as well as the profitability of the company's products. In addition, the Product Manager will be responsible for driving marketing initiatives to ensure that product development activities are customer-driven and aligned to meet future market needs and serve as the internal expert for sustainability, monitoring emerging trends, programs and issues, and communicating and educating others on sustainability topics.  This position will focus on Kawneer’s entrance doors, shopfronts, Juliet balcony’s and KawneerPro software portfolio.

Major activities/Key challenges
  • Manage the door, shopfronts and KawneerPro product line life cycle from developing the strategy to executing tactical activities
  • Subject matter expert – doors, shopfronts and KawneerPro software
  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan for new and existing products and market segment
    • Includes defining appropriate marketing channels/medium (print ads/eblasts/websites/social media/media/promotions/tradeshows)
    • Includes product positioning (branding/messaging
  • Liase with Marketing Communications to structure literature and other supporting materials, fairs, seminars / dealer panels, advertising / communication campaigns, mailing, web site, PR
  • Monitor the marketplace, customers and competitors
  • Specify market requirements for current and new products by conducting market research
  • Develop and maintain Product Roadmap (short, medium and long term plan)
  • Develop documentation; Product Definition; Project Financials; Marketing Strategy and budget; Launch Plan to support the NPD process
  • Develop sales and customer training materials
  • Train sales force on products/services and market solutions
  • Ensure that product databases are designed, developed and tested and launched in alignment to the agreed Business priorit
  • Working with the EPM generate and maintain an SLA with Orgadata
  • Develop and maintain relationship with Orgadata; identify best practices to improve productivity, timeliness and output accuracy
  • Training of Internal and External KPro System Users - improving efficiency in the links between our customers, production and delivery of products



Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Marketing, Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering related field
    • Preferred Master’s degree in Business or Engineering fields
  • LEED Certification
  • 5-7 years’ marketing/product management experience in a B2B environment
  • Construction or architectural systems experience
