Building and Construction Systems, a business unit of Arconic, is the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry.  Arconic Architectural Products (AAP) helps architects, designers, specifiers and installers achieve their own groundbreaking ideas using our Reynobond® %7C Reynolux® products.  We serve the global market with manufacturing facilities in Eastman, Georgia USA and Merxheim, France, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
 
We have an immediate need for a Procurement Manager who will be responsible for leading the overall AAP-Eastman procurement function.  The overall goal is to achieve the best total cost position for all external spend, the lowest sourcing risks, the best supplier performances and the highest efficiency/effectiveness of the plant procurement function.
 
Essential Duties:
  • Provide effective contract negotiation and administration
  • Manage cost reduction activities and sourcing projects
  • Ensure optimal collaboration of Plant Procurement with the Building and Construction System Business Unit Procurement team, the Global Category Management and Regional Procurement to achieve best procurement results
  • Be responsible for the total cost of Direct Materials, Indirect Products and Services in collaboration with Category Management in the case of leveraged categories
  • Minimize commercial risk through the implementation of robust commercial and contractual agreements to ensure optimal supplier performance
  • Assuring compliance with all regulatory and internal company policies and procedures
  • Add value into the supply chain and to ensure that Arconic obtains the benefits from benchmark service levels from suppliers
  • Maximize commercial advantage for Arconic via the deployment of effective sourcing strategies for the location
  • Interact with other functions within the location including Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Maintenance, IT, Finance, to understand their needs and objectives
  • Monitor and control plant procurement targets
  • Report on plant specific savings with Category Management and Procurement Engineering team i.e. Performance areas: Cost Savings (SRT), Supplier performance, challenging of material, service specifications (demand management) and procurement organizational efficiency
  • Communicate supplier issues to BU Global Procurement Manager and Category Management and collaborative on resolutions
  • Participate in supplier meetings jointly with Category Lead
  • Collaborative with ‘sister plant’ in France to drive value across the business network
  • Assist with driving supplier performance and quality through scorecards & benchmarking

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

 

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.  
  • Minimum 5 years' previous work experience in procurement / purchasing or supply chain management.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
Preferred Qualifications :

 

  • Professional Procurement Certification
  • Experience with JDE and Oracle systems
  • Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
