Arconic is currently in search of a Procurement Director, to join our Kawneer business in Norcross, GA.
The Global Business Unit Procurement Director leads and develops the Global BCS Business Unit Procurement Organization.
This role can be located in Norcross, GA or any BCS manufacturing facility and reports directly to the BCS Vice President, Finance. 
The overall goal is to achieve the best total cost position for all external spend of the Global Business Unit, the lowest sourcing risks, best supplier performances and ensuring highest efficiency and effectiveness of the GBU procurement organization.
  • He/she is directly responsible for all GBU Procurement activity and the corresponding objectives.
  • He/she supports all GBU businesses to optimize their Supply Chain by developing a network of suppliers to lower the total cost of ownership while delivering the required quality and mitigating risks.
  • The GBU Procurement Director leads and develops the Business Unit Procurement organization on a global basis for the Global Business Unit plants and operations, ensuring highest efficiency and effectiveness of the BU procurement organization.
  • He/she ensures the optimal collaboration of GBU procurement, Category Management, Capital Procurement and Central Procurement Services teams to achieve best procurement results.
  • He/she drives the GBU procurement organization to world-class level by establishing the following on global level: highly qualified procurement personnel, best-in-class procurement processes and policies, most efficient procurement organization and utilization of Procurement Shared Services and state-of-the-art procurement IT systems and tools.
Major Activities/Key Challenges:
  • Member of BCS GBU lead team
  • Leads all Global BU Procurement Operations and all Global BU Category organizations as direct reporting line
  • Hire, develop, retain talent to strengthen the procurement organization
  • Directly responsible for Global Business Unit spend
  • Makes decisions that require consistent recognition of a wide range of opportunities across Arconic’s negotiation and purchasing of goods and services
  • Communicates GBU targets and cascades goals accordingly to GBU Procurement teams
  • Addresses and resolve organizational barriers with agile decision making and outstanding communication of risk versus reward
  • Provides thought leadership, continually identifies and implements new opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, supply chain risk mitigation and proactively tracks progress towards these objectives
  • Prepares and presents business cases, return on investment models, and change management programs to stakeholders and senior management
  • Member of the Central Procurement Services Council Lead team
  • Has veto rights regarding Global Category Management Strategy release
  • Communicates Supplier issues to Global Category Management/CPO
  • Steers Target Agreement process between plants/segments leadership, Business Unit Procurement and GBU leadership


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Information Technology, Politics/Political Science, Policy, Finance, Accounting, Data Science/Analytics, Marketing Communications, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 9 years of experience in procurement or purchasing management
  • 3 years of experience in international purchasing
  • 3 years of experience in leading a team
  • Ability to flex between strategic and hand-on activities
  • Ability to travel, including globally, as needed
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership in complex purchasing and procurement organizations
  • Strong financial and business acumen Ability to quickly adapt from a business environment to another
  • Master’s Degree or MBA in Business Administration/Economics or Engineering
  • International working experience, intercultural intelligence
  • Proven Leadership and people development skills in complex purchasing and procurement organizations
  • Agile decision maker with complex analytical ability
  • Prove communicator with negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Innovative thinker who can demonstrate strategic development and success
