Job Description

Arconic Fastening Systems is looking for a Plating/Processing Supervisor to supervise the plating process, wastewater, and Chem Lab in order to meet customer production requirements. This position is located at our aerospace manufacturing plant in Tucson, AZ.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Metals processing
    • Troubleshoot plating issues
    • Schedule cleanouts, repairs, etc.
    • Coordinate production load balance between plating and wastewater
    • Evaluate new/alternate chemicals
    • Schedule internal audits
  • Wastewater Treatment
    • Identification and characterization of water discharge
    • Manage offsite disposal of wastewater
    • Work with local POTW to schedule discharge, sampling, and inspections
    • Review wastewater inspection reports and analysis reports for discrepancies
  • Chemical Lab analytics
    • Review all analytical reports
      • Plating tank analyses
      • Salt spray analyses
      • Certificates of Conformance, etc.
    • Troubleshoot lab analyses problems
  • Development of Training
    • Develop content for monthly toolbox-talk meetings.
    • Assist EHS manager with scheduling required employee training. (LOTO, Fall Protection, Mobile Equipment)
  • Assist with management of contractors/vendors
  • Lead/participate in both internal and external audits
  • Direct Supervision of processing, wastewater and lab personnel


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or closely related field with focus on metals plating process
  • Minimum 3 years of Supervisory experience
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 or more years of processing experience in the aerospace or other regulated industry
  • Experience with National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (NADCAP)
  • Work experience in a complex high volume manufacturing work environment (precision metal removal or metal forming manufacturing preferred)
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with ISO 9001 & 14001
