Arconic Fastening Systems is looking for a Process Specialist II for our 2nd Shift Fittings Department. This position is located at our Aerospace manufacturing plant in Fullerton, CA.

Under the general direction of a supervisor or manager, assists in giving work assignments and direction to other workers to ensure attainment of the EHS, production, and quality objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for daily work order scheduling in department(s) to which assigned;
  • Sets Up and Operates various CNC Machines;
  • Assigns personnel within the department in order to achieve shipment objectives;
  • Assists the supervisor and manager in achieving the facility production objectives;
  • Assists the supervisor and manager in ensuring that the posted schedules are adhered to;
  • Updates department daily management board;
  • Determines from blueprints, the work order tooling requirements and availability;
  • Orders minor adaptations of existing tools and fixtures required for current operations with appropriate documentation;
  • Ensures first articles are filled out correctly;
  • Determines other material requirements and availability for the areas assigned i.e. mops, brooms, supplies;
  • Walks shop floor to ensure all employees are maintaining productivity standards;
  • Ensures proper raw material has been provided for each work order;
  • Performs layouts and/or set-ups to standard for machines that are in the department
  • Assists supervisor in the shop floor training of employees on safety, tooling and production requirements;
  • Informs supervisor of significant or personnel issues in the department;
  • Ensures employees are taking all breaks and lunches within the required time period;
  • Recommends to supervisor possible changes that would solve department work flow problems, or substantially reduce costs;
  • Recommends repair, maintenance, or replacement of equipment;
  • Gives feedback to the supervisor in order for him/her to prepare performance reviews (may not write, sign, nor give the review);
  • Prepares production reports or other department paperwork as needed for the supervisor (Not authorized to work on any timekeeping duties);
  • Is “alert” to unsafe working conditions and initiates immediate action for their correction;
  • Inspects the work area at the start of each shift for overall working conditions;    
  • Reports all accidents immediately to EHS and the supervisor or manager, initiates Triple I or E’s, and IFE’s.  Will recommend and implement corrective action as appropriate;
  • Helps instruct personnel in the correct application of S.P.C. charting as required, notifies supervisor if reinforcement with the employees is needed;
  • Ensures work areas are kept clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a continuous basis;
  • Promotes ABS where applicable.


Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Internal employees must be in good standing with the Company. (no active disciplinary action, performance issues, etc.)
  • Requires complete knowledge of all processes, Safety requirements, tooling, material, and quality requirements within the department
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
