Job Description

Arconic Engines (AEN) is seeking a Process Owner – Wax to ensure operational excellence and drive technical improvement throughout our wax injection and assembly operations as well as outsource suppliers. Profile:  This position is responsible for implementing and ensuring that all AEN Wax manufacturing processes are performed in compliance with established methods, materials and equipment specifications and that best practices are implemented across AEN wax assembly manufacturing sites and outsource suppliers. The candidate will need to maintain the AEN Wax Manuals and associated Manufacturing Arconic Self-Assessment Tool (ASAT). This role is also responsible to sponsor or lead improvement and technology development projects to advance the quality and costs of the process.
 
•This role will be part of a talent development succession program; ideal candidates will thrive on driving improvement and collaborating with leaders at all levels. Location flexibility may be required.
 
Essential Functions: The AEN Process Owner Wax position includes both strategic vision and tactical management and execution; examples include but are not limited to:
 
•         Drives Wax Process Management, and supporting AEN Wax Manual and Wax ASAT, at all relevant AEN locations using the scientific method, six sigma, and productivity tools to achieve business performance goals.
•         Ensures data-driven development and implementation of new materials, processes, and equipment.
•         Facilitates continuous improvement activities across AEN and supplier locations, including audits as needed.
•         Maintains standards, specifications and other documents for all aspects of the assembly manufacturing processes.
•         Acts as a conduit between the AEN Research Center or suppliers and manufacturing facilities to ensure that technology and material needs are communicated, and new technology/ material is rapidly tested, qualified, and implemented.
•         Leads or supports process improvement and training activities for injection and other wax processes.
•         Guides the AEN Wax Process Owners team in cost-effective compliance to internal and external requirements.
•         Coaches/ mentors team members, peers, and others to grow talent within Arconic.
•         Monitors outside technology to identify and evaluate improvement opportunities.
•         Supports other Arconic business units in overlapping process or technology areas.
•         Demonstrates and coaches safety and Arconic values.
 
 
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•         Must possess exceptional written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
•         Must be able to conceptualize equipment and product configurations.
•         Must be a self-starter, manage time effectively and meet deliverable deadlines.
•         Must be a leader that positively represents AEN and influences internal personnel to represent our company in a professional and business-like manner.
•         Must have demonstrated ability to create trustworthy relationships and energize teams.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
•         Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering or Material Science
•         5 years minimum experience in plastics injection molding or the precision investment casting industry
•         3 years minimum experience in injection molding
•         3 years minimum experience with investment casting wax materials, pattern molding, and assembly
•         Ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization
•         Ability to travel 50—75%
•         Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
•         This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines a U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
•         Advanced degree in Plastics, Chemical, Material, or Mechanical Engineering
•         Derives personal satisfaction from the success of others/ the team in balance with individual accomplishments
•         Knowledge of wax or plastic materials, compounding and additives
•         5 years’ experience in plastics injection molding, assembly, or decorating
•         Recognized plastics industry Master Molder or similar certification
•         Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt
•         Tooling-making or tool design experience, especially for molding
•         Assembly and automation experience
•         Demonstrated ability to create and deliver adult training in technical topics
