The Process Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and evaluation of processes and the equipment used in the production of titanium alloys. A broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures will be applied to the research process to develop and improve titanium metals and alloys.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Develop and implement processing techniques for a broad range of wrought titanium alloy mill products;
  • Understand the relationship between chemistry and thermal mechanical processing parameters and their effects on macro, microstructure and mechanical property characteristics of titanium billet and bloom products;
  • Translate customer, material and internal specification processing requirements into mill processing instructions suitable for shop floor use;
  • Resolve operational, production and customer metallurgical processing problems;
  • Effectively use writing and verbal skills to communicate metallurgical and processing concepts to customers, operating personnel, other company departments, technical staff and upper level management;
  • Develop written reports summarizing processing trials and implement successful trials on future production;
  • Create new conversion instructions for outside processors to effectively and efficiently produce prime product;
  • Gather data relevant to material processing and process trials and perform statistical and other appropriate analysis required to resolve open quality issues and establish process control limits;
  • Develop and implement techniques for improved process control;
  • Review, edit and approve daily sales and production orders for the various wrought products produced;
  • Review, disposition and provide instructions for non-conforming materials in order to reclaim;
  • Propose and assist with new product and process development for internal production and associated Arconic companies;
  • Assist Accounting Department with reviewing and revising product routings to reduce production variances and ensure reliable cost estimates.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution;
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'green card holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Materials or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution;
  • Possess strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills for supporting all aspects of the engineering infrastructure;
  • Ability to work and interact effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team atmosphere.
  • Ability to manage multiple and complex tasks simultaneously;
  • Possess a high level of organizational and prioritization skills;
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook. SAP experience is a plus.
