Arconic Engines Cleveland Operations, 3960 S. Marginal Rd. is seeking a process / product engineer for our Patterns Business Center. 
 
This position is charged with the responsibility of improving the process results and quality of the wax and wax/plastic patterns.  
 
Understand and implement quality tools to improve the visual quality as well as the yields of patterns.  Develop and document injection profiles for the various wax patterns produced on the different machines.
 
Be involved in the startup of all new jobs with the tooling technician.
 
Learn, understand and implement the tools of 6 Sigma to improve pattern quality and yields.
 
Help troubleshoot quality problems on existing and new wax patterns, i.e., core break wall problems, visual quality.  Interface with customers regarding same.
 
 Understand the capabilities of the AFC, CFAFC and DCS machines.  (wax injection machines)
 
Understand their limitations and advantages.
 
Participate in and contribute in Quality focused meetings.
 
Be the focal point at HTE for technical interface with Pattern customers.
 
Work with the other wax process owners in the other Arconic facilities.
 
Help develop and coordinate SMED methods to the smaller wax injection dies and incorporate shear thinning principles where needed. (single minute exchange dies)

Qualifications

 
 
Basic Qualifications:
 
•Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution
 
•3 years engineering experience
 
•Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
 
•This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
 
•Preferred Qualifications:
 
•Bachelor Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
 
•Injection press experience
 
• Strong communication skills
 
•Investment casting pattern experience
 
•Strong Excel knowledge
